Increasing Threat of Google Penguin Penalty on Guest Blogs

I am really disappointed by changing profile of Guest Blogging.There was a doubt in my mind regarding guest posting since introduction of Google Penguin Algorithm but after reading post regarding it at Quickonlinetips,My doubt got clarified.When I was busy with my studies and did not get any time to publish post.I started accepting guest posts and they demanded a backlink in return (its usual not surprising). Search Engine monitors your each outbound link and link to spammy sites can lead to trouble of Google’s Penguin Update.My this post is not to discourage guest bloggers but to discourage some hired writers who creates multiple versions of same article.I receive too many emails by some funny fictitious name. Let me tell you about lines they most frequently use

5. I have different ideas that I think your readers would love.
6. It must be very hard writing so much of quality content!

8. I could write about any topic like a,b,c or something else if you would like?
9. Hope to hear from you soon.

Usually due to our hectic schedule or lack of time we publish guest post without verifying it seriously.Some writers creates multiple copies for eg : if they submit 10 wordpress tips to me then they add 2 more tips and then they submit it to another blogger by changing the title to 12 wordpress tips.It takes years of hard work to maintain the quality of content of our blog and due to some circumstances we accept guest posts and we throw all our hard work in fire via our own hands.Checkout an example below : Now checkout the links to this site in Opensiteexplorer : So what can i do ? Make sure you have thoroughly gone through the website to which guest blogger demanded the link.This is one of the biggest mistake most of the bloggers do (even i did) and it affects very negatively to SEO and domain authority.You must check all the links embedded in the post. Mostly they Links to affiliate squeeze pages,products and sometimes it maybe gambling sites. These posts will destroy your blog’s traffic  and link building efforts. You have full right to delete any such kind of post whereas i will recommend that you should nofollow these kind of posts and if you think that post is copied or gathered from somewhere then you can also noindex that post along nofollow If you delete guest posts then guest bloggers will become furious and even some can try their best to harm your blog. Whenever you get such junk mails regarding guest post then use opensiteexplorer or alexa sitelinks to check the links to site which they want backlink,If site has decent links then you can think about it.You will be curious to know how they are doing it,here is a screenshot :

Spammers send tons of mails to bloggers,they are generated by bots.Apply minimum post length limit,I prefer 800-1000 words.Do not accept post without images.If you are having self hosted WordPress blog then accept guest posts only if they are submitted via WordPress dashboard.You can use plugins like WP invites and BAW Invitation Codesto stop automated registrations and allow registration via invitation codes only.

Most of the guest posts sent via mail are spam so beware while publishing such posts.If guest blogger owns a blog related to your topics then you can also allow him to link within the article also.Always accept guest posts from fellow bloggers if you want to stay on safer side.If you are not satisfied with the quality of article ask for improved version of it. Examine the authors information carefully including Gravatar and make sure you are able to trace out the fake names,some of those spammers don’t even think before submitting guest post as most of the times they use surname of their native country and name resembling to the blog owner.Don’t include more than one link in author bios and don’t  accept guest posts including self promotion.If you are providing dofollow link to any fake guest blogger then link juice will pass from your blog to his affiliate page.He will enjoy link juice and domain authority and you will be left with failures like decreasing pagerank and traffic.At last but not least Keep updating guidelines at Guest Blog Guidelines dedicated page regularly.
